Radical Jazz Standard Quintet “Live at Big Apple”
One piece that recorded the stage of “One Night” of One Horn Quartet led by drummer Hiromasa Sadaoka. The recording place is Kobe’s live house “Big Apple”, “One Night” is November 2019, Sadaoka’s 34th birthday. His “Semodai”, Thelonious Monk University project, was completely improvised in the 1st in 2014, and the 2nd in 2017 was a two-disc hemetamorphose that improvised again with the shadow of the Monk head family. As the name suggests, “Radical Jazz Standard Quartet” takes up “masterpieces” by Parker, Gershwin, Weil and others, and collages them with their own unique taste, as expected. The appeal to jazz fans has increased, but the “sharpness” has not changed.<Eichi Tomizawa>
